A little escapade

Just to get back into the rhythm before our summer vacation, a little escapade this weekend; the Borland Race.  A yearly event at SYC in honor of one of the yacht club's founding members, this 2 day race is a lot of fun.  Even without any wind!
First leg up river to Crysler Park Marina (Upper Canada Village), second leg on the sunday back to SYC.

No wind on saturday - the race was cancelled and everyone motored up.  When we got there, our trusty water taxi Scream took us to a lovely little beach across the harbor to cool down.  We then had a nice BBQ supper in great company with our friends the Morris and Suffel families.

For the return leg on sunday, a little trickle of wind, it was really slow going, hot and muggy....Some managed to complete it under sail, but we bailed and motored - we were anxious to get back and swim!  It was an excellent sunny weekend - my sunburn can attest to it!
